Should your health insurance have a co-payment?
Five quick questions about how you use healthcare. At the end I’ll tell you which plan type usually works out best for you, and why.
A co-payment plan suits you
Given how you use healthcare, you’ll most likely pay less with a low premium and small fees per visit. Check the co-payment table is reasonable and, ideally, that there’s an annual cap.
You’re in the middle ground
Your usage is at the point where both plan types can cost about the same. The key is comparing real numbers: the premium difference against the co-payments you’d pay in a normal year.
A no co-payment plan suits you
You use healthcare often, so paying a bit more each month and forgetting about per-visit fees will usually pay off. You also get a fixed, predictable monthly cost.
General guidance, not a personal recommendation. The best option depends on each insurer’s real premiums and co-payment table, which I can compare with you at no obligation.
